Overview
Drako Motors is an American manufacturer of high-performance electric supercars and hyper-luxury SUVs. The company focuses on proprietary software-driven drivetrain technology, specifically utilizing advanced torque vectoring to enhance vehicle control and performance.
History
Drako Motors was founded in 2013 by Dean Drako and Shiv Sikand with the goal of creating driver-focused electric vehicles that leverage advanced software control. The company spent several years in stealth development, focusing on the engineering of their proprietary 'Drako DriveOS,' a system designed to manage torque at each wheel with millisecond precision. In 2019, the company unveiled its first production vehicle, the Drako GTE, a limited-production electric sports sedan. The GTE served as a platform to showcase their quad-motor powertrain and software-defined vehicle architecture, which replaced traditional mechanical differentials with active software-based torque management. Following the GTE, the company expanded its vision toward the hyper-luxury segment. In 2022, Drako Motors announced the Drako Dragon, an all-electric hyper-SUV boasting 2,000 horsepower. The company continues to operate as a boutique manufacturer, emphasizing high-performance engineering and software integration over mass-market production.
