Overview

The Little Car Company (rebranded in luxury spaces under Hedley Studios) is a British boutique manufacturer specializing in scaled, fully operational electric versions of legendary classic cars. Working under official licensing partnerships with elite prestige OEMs like Bugatti, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Bentley, the company handcrafts limited-run collector vehicles designed to be drivable across generations. Their market position occupies a distinct niche bridging high-end coachbuilding, luxury memorabilia, and electrified micro-mobility.

History

The Little Car Company was founded in 2019 by Ben Hedley and headquartered at the Bicester Heritage automotive technology and historic preservation campus in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. The company burst onto the international stage when it partnered directly with Bugatti to reveal the Bugatti Baby II at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show, celebrating Bugatti's 110th anniversary with a strictly limited production run of 500 scaled electric models based on the legendary 1926 Bugatti Type 35. Following the global acclaim and commercial success of the Bugatti Baby II, the company signed high-profile partnerships with Aston Martin to produce the DB5 Junior (and an intricately equipped 'No Time to Die' gadget-laden edition), followed by an official collaboration with Ferrari Classiche to recreate the iconic 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa as the Ferrari Testa Rossa J. In parallel, the company engineered full-scale road-legal projects, including a partnership with Japanese model kit icon Tamiya to create the road-legal Wild One MAX buggy. In subsequent years, the manufacturer expanded its portfolio into road-legal scale vehicles with models such as the 85% scale Bentley Blower Jnr. As the business broadened its scope from junior-scale performance cars to bespoke electrified art, it expanded operations at its Bicester Heritage workshops, formalizing production lines that blend bespoke traditional coachbuilding techniques—such as hand-beaten aluminum bodywork—with modern CNC machining, custom 48V electric powertrains, and high-performance automotive chassis components.
