Overview

TWR Performance is a boutique automotive manufacturer specializing in high-performance bespoke engineering and the radical reimagining of iconic classic cars. The company focuses on the luxury 'super-restomod' market, blending heritage-inspired designs with contemporary carbon-fiber construction and advanced aerodynamics.

History

The original Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) was established in 1976 and became a dominant force in global motorsport, most famously partnering with Jaguar to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988 and 1990. The original firm was also instrumental in developing legendary road cars like the Jaguar XJ220 and the Aston Martin DB7 before the company ceased operations in 2002 following the collapse of the Arrows Formula 1 team. In 2023, the TWR name was officially revived as TWR Performance by Fergus Walkinshaw, son of the founder, alongside business partner John Keogh. The new entity was founded to preserve the engineering-led DNA of the original brand while utilizing modern materials and manufacturing techniques to create highly exclusive, performance-oriented vehicles for the modern era. The company’s first major project, the TWR Supercat, was unveiled in 2024. This vehicle is a comprehensive reimagining of the Jaguar XJS, featuring a supercharged V12 engine and a full carbon-fiber widebody design. Limited to just 88 units to commemorate the 1988 Le Mans victory, the Supercat established TWR Performance as a significant player in the high-end bespoke automotive sector.
