Overview
Ceer is Saudi Arabia's first homegrown electric vehicle manufacturer, established as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Foxconn. The company focuses on designing, engineering, and manufacturing a portfolio of electric sedans and SUVs tailored for the Saudi and MENA regional markets.
History
Ceer was officially launched on November 2, 2022, by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, as a strategic initiative under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 to diversify the national economy and reduce carbon emissions. The company was formed as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn, which provides key component technology and electrical architecture expertise. Following its inception, the company focused on building a robust automotive ecosystem, including the development of a large-scale manufacturing complex in King Abdullah Economic City. Throughout 2024 and 2025, Ceer secured various supply chain partnerships, including agreements with Hyundai for drive systems and Sabelt for high-performance components, while actively recruiting international automotive talent to lead its industrialization efforts. By late 2026, the company reached a significant milestone by preparing to unveil its first flagship electric sedan and SUV models. Ceer aims to launch a portfolio of seven distinct vehicle models over a five-year period, positioning itself as a major regional player in the electric mobility sector with a long-term goal of localizing a significant portion of its supply chain by 2034.
