Overview
GFG Style is a boutique Italian automotive design and engineering firm founded by the legendary designers Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro. The company focuses on styling, prototyping, and design consultancy for both established global OEMs and emerging electric vehicle startups, positioning itself at the intersection of luxury craftsmanship and futuristic mobility.
History
GFG Style was established in July 2015 by Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio, following their departure from Italdesign, the famous design house they previously founded and sold to the Volkswagen Group. Based in Moncalieri, Italy, the new firm was conceived to allow the father-son duo to operate with full creative independence, specializing in high-end automotive design, styling, and prototype development. The company made its international debut with a series of high-profile concept cars that challenged traditional segment boundaries. In 2018, they partnered with Envision Energy to create the Sibylla, an electric sedan that integrated advanced vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology. This was followed in 2019 by the Kangaroo, a unique 'Hyper-SUV' that combined the aesthetics of a supercar with the ride height and capability of a crossover, demonstrating the firm's focus on innovative vehicle architectures. In recent years, GFG Style has expanded its portfolio to include collaborations with various international partners, such as the Bandini Dora and the Vision 2030 Desert Raid. These projects showcase their ability to handle complete vehicle development from initial sketches to functional, driveable prototypes. Today, the firm remains a critical player in the Italian 'Carrozzeria' tradition, providing design DNA for a wide range of electric and internal combustion vehicles worldwide.
