Overview
Halcyon is a British luxury automotive brand that specializes in the comprehensive 'remastering' of classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley models. The company focuses on integrating proprietary 800V electric powertrains or re-engineered V8 engines into meticulously restored donor chassis to deliver modern performance without compromising original aesthetics.
History
Halcyon was founded in 2023 by three British engineering graduates from the University of Bath: Will Burdett, Matthew Pearson, and Charlie Metcalfe. The brand emerged from its sibling company, Evice Ltd (formerly Evice Technologies), which was established to develop advanced electric powertrain solutions for the specialist automotive sector. After a two-year research and development program, the team showcased an electric Silver Shadow prototype to test their 800V architecture and thermal management systems. In early 2025, the brand officially launched its first commercial offering, the 'Genesis Series,' headlined by the 'Highland Heather' commission—a remastered 1978 Rolls-Royce Corniche. This execution demonstrated Halcyon's commitment to zero-weight-added electrification, matching the original vehicle's mass while doubling its horsepower. The company quickly expanded its team by recruiting experienced staff from Formula 1, McLaren, and various aerospace firms to support its artisanal production approach. In 2026, Halcyon introduced 'The Great Eight Series' as a response to client demand for mechanical purity. This series focuses on remastering the legendary Crewe-built 6.75-liter L-Series V8, offering a combustion-powered alternative to its electric line. To guide its strategic growth, the company appointed former McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt as an advisor. Present day operations are focused on completing the initial production run of 60 bespoke commissions from its headquarters in Surrey.
