LB Specialist Cars was founded in March 2010 by Craig and Lydia White under the original name ListerBell Automotive. The company's name was derived from a combination of the family name 'Bell' and the 'Lister Arms' in Malham, where Craig worked while attending university. Craig White’s involvement in the sports car industry began in 1989 following a chance encounter with Steve Greenwood of Litton Cars, which sparked a lifelong interest in kit cars and the Lancia Stratos. Operating from Newark, Nottinghamshire, the company established itself as a niche manufacturer dedicated to recreating the Lancia Stratos. Over the years, the firm gained a reputation for extreme attention to detail, with their STR model designed to accommodate original lights and latches from the classic vehicle. In 2019, the company rebranded from ListerBell Automotive to LB Specialist Cars. Today, the company continues to operate as a boutique manufacturer, producing bespoke, low-volume sports cars for enthusiasts. Their work is recognized for blending classic aesthetics with modern mechanical reliability, often utilizing high-performance engines such as the Alfa Romeo Busso V6 to provide a contemporary driving experience in a vintage-inspired package.
