History
The Maxus brand traces its roots to the British commercial vehicle manufacturer LDV Group, which produced the LDV Maxus van. Following the collapse of LDV, SAIC Motor acquired the intellectual property in 2010. SAIC subsequently established SAIC Maxus Automotive Co., Ltd. in March 2011 to develop and manufacture vehicles based on the acquired European light-vehicle technology platform.
