Why consider this supplier?

Norsk Hydro ASA (Hydro) is an Oslo-based aluminium and renewable energy company founded in 1905, with about 32,000 employees in around 40 countries. It is organised in four business areas: Hydro Bauxite & Alumina (Paragominas bauxite mine and Alunorte alumina refinery, Brazil), Hydro Aluminium Metal (primary aluminium and casthouse products, including the recycling and commercial units of Hydro Metal Markets), Hydro Extrusions, and Hydro Energy (hydropower and renewables). For materials sourcing, Hydro supplies extrusion ingot, sheet ingot, primary and recycled foundry alloys, wire rod and high-purity aluminium from about 2.1 million tonnes of primary capacity, plus low-carbon brands Hydro REDUXA (primary aluminium at 4.0 kg CO2e/kg Al or less) and Hydro CIRCAL (recycled aluminium with at least 75% post-consumer scrap, 1.9 kg CO2e/kg Al in Europe). Extruded automotive parts are supplied by its extrusion business area, Hydro Extrusions (see Hydro Extrusions).

Capabilities

Components offered

Materials rather than finished components: extrusion ingot for extruders, foundry alloys for cast automotive parts (e.g. wheels, battery boxes, structural castings, transmission and engine parts), sheet ingot and wire rod. For crash management systems, battery trays, subframes and other extruded parts see Hydro Extrusions.

Products & services

Primary aluminium and casthouse products (extrusion ingot, sheet ingot/slabs, primary foundry alloys, wire rod, high-purity aluminium); recycled aluminium (Hydro CIRCAL extrusion ingot and foundry alloys); low-carbon primary aluminium (Hydro REDUXA); bauxite and alumina; renewable energy. Automotive extrusions and fabricated parts are supplied through Hydro Extrusions.
