Unipart Group
Why consider this supplier?
Unipart Group is a private supply chain company based in Oxford, England. It began in 1969 as a division of British Leyland that sold aftermarket parts, and became a subsidiary in 1974 under the Unipart brand. Management and employees bought it from Rover Group in 1987 under John Neill. Wikipedia describes it as owned about 70% by its workforce and pension fund and 30% by institutions, though Unipart's own site says only that it is a private company. It has more than 8,000 staff in the UK and 22 other markets. Its services include supply chain consulting, design and manufacture, logistics, wholesale and distribution, and circular economy work, for sectors such as automotive, rail, aerospace and defence. Its UK car parts distribution arm, Unipart Automotive, was sold in 2011 and failed in 2014. In 2024 it bought Formaplex, now Unipart Polymer and Composite Solutions.
