Inbound Materials & Component Manufacture
Before a single panel is pressed, a vast network of global suppliers delivers the raw materials and sub-assemblies that make up the modern car. This is where the supply chain meets the factory floor.
Key Processes
The inbound stage is the invisible foundation of vehicle manufacturing — encompassing everything from raw material extraction to the delivery of complex sub-assemblies ready for line-side fitment.
Raw Material Inbound Logistics
Steel coils, aluminium billets, carbon fibre rolls and polymer granules arrive from a global network of Tier 2 and Tier 3 material suppliers. Just-in-time scheduling ensures buffer stocks are minimised while production continuity is protected.
Tier 1 Component Sub-assembly
Specialist Tier 1 suppliers manufacture complex sub-assemblies — wiring harnesses, brake calipers, suspension knuckles, instrument clusters — at their own facilities before delivering sequenced to the main assembly plant.
Goods Inward & Quality Inspection
All inbound materials and components pass through goods-inward inspection. Certificates of conformity, dimensional checks and material traceability records are verified before parts enter the production sequence.
Kitting & Line-side Replenishment
Parts are kitted and staged in the correct assembly sequence, delivered line-side via milk-run logistics to minimise work-in-progress inventory and support takt-time-driven production flow.
