Overview

Bizzarrini is a revived Italian boutique automotive manufacturer that specializes in ultra-low volume luxury sports cars and high-performance hypercars. The company focuses on producing "Continuation" series vehicles that honor its 1960s racing heritage alongside modern, bespoke V12-powered flagship models for the global collector market.

History

Giotto Bizzarrini, a legendary engineer who contributed to the Ferrari 250 GTO and the development of Lamborghini's first V12 engine, founded Prototipi Bizzarrini S.r.l. in 1964 in Livorno, Italy. The company gained fame for the 5300 GT Strada, a high-performance grand tourer that combined Italian chassis engineering with American Chevrolet V8 power, and the P538S racing prototype. Despite technical brilliance and racing success, the original company faced severe financial instability. Bizzarrini S.p.A. was declared bankrupt and ceased production in 1969, leaving behind a legacy of fewer than 200 vehicles that became highly sought-after by collectors in subsequent decades. After several failed attempts to revive the brand over the years, the Bizzarrini name was officially relaunched in 2020 under the ownership of Pegasus Automotive Group, led by Rezam Al Roumi. The revival team included industry veterans from Aston Martin and McLaren, such as Ulrich Bez and Chris Porritt, aiming to restore the brand's prestige through modern engineering and heritage-focused projects. The modern era of Bizzarrini began with the '5300 GT Corsa Revival,' a series of 24 continuation cars built to original specifications. This was followed by the announcement of the 'Giotto,' a completely new hypercar featuring a bespoke naturally aspirated V12 engine, and the '5300 GT Aperta Lusso,' a carbon-fiber roadster reimagining 1960s designs.
