Autotrayce covers suppliers, manufacturers, vehicles, components and materials in the specialist and high-end part of the industry. Accuracy matters more to us than the number of records, so every fact we add has to come from a source we have read.
Where the facts come from
In order of preference, we use:
- The company's own published material: supplier and manufacturer websites, press releases and technical specifications.
- Company registries and regulatory filings, such as Companies House.
- Certification documents.
- Independent references, including well-documented encyclopaedia entries for history and specifications.
- Trade and specialist press.
For each fact we record the source, what type of source it is and the date it was checked. A link between a vehicle and a component needs its own source for that specific vehicle. If we can't confirm that a part is fitted to a particular car, we don't make the link, even when it is fitted to a closely related model.
Most source citations are held in our records rather than printed on every page. The Trayce Verified panel shows the public citations for each fact it covers. If you need the source for something else, ask us.
Trayce Verified
The Trayce Verified panel on supplier, manufacturer and component pages reports four checks:
- Company identity
- Manufacturing location
- Certifications
- Programme relationships
A check counts as verified only when it has been confirmed against an independent source with a public citation and an evidence note. Each review is dated. After 120 days without a fresh review the panel shows "Review overdue". The panel also gives an overall data confidence of high, medium or low.
Trayce Verified does not guarantee capacity, lead times or that a supplier is right for your programme. It is never sold: paying Autotrayce does not change a verification result or what a profile says.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help find sources, draft descriptive text and suggest where records have gaps. Facts produced this way are checked against a source before they are published.
Procurement fields are different. Lead time, minimum order quantity, supply risk and cost tier are never filled in by AI. They are only entered by a person, from information a supplier has given us or that we have confirmed directly, and they carry the date they were checked.
Keeping records current
- We run a regular check for changes of ownership. Anything it finds is reviewed by a person before a profile changes.
- Procurement data more than 90 days old is flagged for review.
- Supplier profiles with an ownership history show when the company status was last checked.
If you spot something out of date, please tell us.
