Overview
Zenvo Automotive is a Danish manufacturer of high-performance hypercars based in Præstø. The company specializes in low-volume, hand-built vehicles that combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative aerodynamic technologies like their patented active tilting wing. Zenvo focuses on the ultra-luxury segment, offering bespoke engineering and extreme performance to a global clientele of collectors.
History
Zenvo was founded in 2004 by Troels Vollertsen with the ambitious goal of creating Denmark's first supercar. After years of development, the company officially incorporated in 2007 and debuted its first prototype, the Zenvo ST1, in 2008. The ST1 featured a unique 6.8-liter engine that was both turbocharged and supercharged, producing 1,104 hp. Despite a limited production run of 15 units and high-profile technical challenges during early media testing, the ST1 established Zenvo as a serious contender in the hypercar market. In 2016, the brand introduced the TS1 GT, an evolution of the original design featuring a refined 5.8-liter twin-supercharged V8. This platform led to the creation of the track-only TSR and the road-legal TSR-S in 2018. The TSR-S achieved international recognition for its 'Centripetal Wing,' a multi-axis active aerodynamic system that tilts to create inward force during cornering, significantly improving stability. This period also saw a change in leadership and investment under CEO Angela Hartman, who acquired the company in 2017 and focused on expanding the global dealer network. Following the success of the TSR-S, Zenvo began a transition toward more advanced powertrains and modular engineering. In 2023, the company unveiled its most ambitious project to date: the Zenvo Aurora. This new model represents a departure from the V8 architecture, instead utilizing a bespoke 6.6-liter quad-turbocharged V12 engine developed in partnership with Mahle Powertrain. The Aurora also incorporates hybrid technology, signaling the brand's commitment to modern performance standards while maintaining its focus on internal combustion soul. As of 2024, Zenvo is preparing for the production phase of the Aurora Agil and Tur variants, which are scheduled for delivery starting in 2026. The company continues to operate from its facility in Denmark, emphasizing its identity as an artisanal manufacturer. With a total production limit of 100 units for the Aurora line, Zenvo remains one of the most exclusive automotive brands in the world, competing directly with marques like Koenigsegg and Pagani.
