Polyurethane Adhesives
High-performance, flexible structural adhesives used for bonding dissimilar materials in automotive body, glazing, and composite applications.
Overview
Polyurethane (PU) adhesives are two-component or moisture-curing adhesive systems based on isocyanate and polyol chemistries, offering a unique combination of high bond strength, flexibility, and adhesion to a wide range of substrates including metals, glass, plastics, and composites. In automotive manufacturing, PU adhesives are used for windscreen and glazing bonding, direct glazing systems, hem flange bonding in body panels, and composite-to-metal bonding in lightweight structures. Their flexibility allows them to absorb differential thermal expansion between dissimilar materials — critical for structural integrity over the vehicle's service life.

Acrylic Adhesives
Structural Adhesive
Acrylic adhesives are high-strength synthetic bonding agents based on acrylic or methacrylic polymers that cure through free-radical polymerization.
Crash-Durable Epoxy Adhesive
Structural Adhesive
Toughened BIW structural epoxy for mixed-material crash joints, distinct from epoxy resin matrix.

Butyl Sealants
Sealant
A synthetic rubber-based sealant with outstanding impermeability to gases and moisture, used for body sealing, glazing, and noise damping in automotive assembly.

Sustainability
Sustainability Rating
PU adhesives are difficult to separate at end-of-life, complicating material recycling. Bio-based polyol feedstocks are increasingly used in formulations.
