Crash-Durable Epoxy Adhesive
Toughened BIW structural epoxy for mixed-material crash joints, distinct from epoxy resin matrix.
Overview
Crash-durable epoxy structural adhesives are toughened, high-modulus epoxies formulated for body-in-white mixed-material joining — hem flanges, roof-to-body, and steel-to-aluminium joints that must hold in a crash. Epoxy Resin in the library is a composite-matrix and general adhesive page. This record is the crash-durable BIW adhesive, not a laminate resin. It is also distinct from polyurethane and acrylic structural adhesives. Typically one-component heat-cure (e-coat oven) or two-component, applied as a bead. Not recyclable as a separate stream once cured.
