End-of-Line (EOL) Testing
Every vehicle built must prove itself before it leaves the factory. EOL testing subjects the completed car to a comprehensive battery of dynamic, electrical and water tests — the last line of quality defence before customer delivery.
EOL Test Processes
End-of-line testing is not a single check — it is a sequence of dedicated test stations, each designed to stress a specific vehicle system under controlled, repeatable conditions.
Rolling Road / Chassis Dynamometer
The fully assembled vehicle is driven on a chassis dynamometer where wheels turn against rollers. Engine power, drivetrain efficiency, ABS, traction control, ESP and speedometer calibration are all verified under load across a range of simulated speeds.
Water Ingress Testing
The vehicle passes through a high-pressure water tunnel simulating heavy rain and spray. Technicians inspect all door seals, glass apertures, windscreen bonding, body closures and under-bonnet grommets to detect any water ingress before the car leaves the factory.
Electrical & Electronics Audit
All ECUs are interrogated via OBD. Software is flashed to final production specification. Lighting, ADAS sensors, infotainment, cameras and connectivity systems are functionally tested against the vehicle's option list and build specification.
NVH & Squeak/Rattle Check
The car is driven over a surface replicating various road textures — cobbles, expansion joints, rough tarmac — while technicians listen for any noise, vibration or harshness issues. Any squeak or rattle is traced and resolved before sign-off.
Typical EOL Test Stations
Wheel Alignment & Geometry
Four-wheel alignment set to factory specification
Headlight Aim
Beam pattern and aim verified against legal standards
Brake Test
Emergency stop performance on a brake roller rig
ADAS Calibration
Cameras, radar and lidar calibrated on a dedicated jig
Fuel / Fluid Fill
All fluids filled to level and checked for leaks under operating conditions
Road Test
Short dynamic road test on a closed circuit or public road
