Overview

DYATOM is Brembo's most advanced carbon-ceramic brake disc, developed by Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes (BSCCB), the Brembo and SGL Carbon joint venture. It is built from five carbon-ceramic layers for very high thermal performance and wear resistance under severe track use. Because the disc keeps brake pads and fluid cooler, the system can be downsized while matching or improving braking power, and pedal feel stays more stable. Its first application was the Ford GT Mk II, where Brembo worked with Ford and Multimatic on the pad friction. It is also fitted to the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, where Brembo credits it as a factor in the car's Nürburgring record.

Key Differentiators

  • Five-layer carbon-ceramic construction for intense track use
  • Lower operating temperature allows a smaller disc for the same braking power
  • Almost no abrasive wear on the disc surface; steadier pedal from cooler brake fluid
