Advanced Aluminium Alloys (7000 Series)
High-strength aerospace-grade aluminium alloys offering superior strength-to-weight performance for structural automotive applications.
Overview
The 7000 series aluminium alloys (primarily zinc-alloyed, e.g. 7075, 7068) represent the highest-strength grades of aluminium available. Originally developed for aerospace applications, these alloys are increasingly adopted in high-performance and electric vehicle structures where minimising mass without sacrificing structural integrity is critical. Typical applications include suspension components, chassis nodes, crash management systems, and battery enclosures. Their high specific strength competes favourably with many steels at significantly lower density.
