Glass-Filled PA6 / PA66
Glass-filled nylon 6 and 66 for under-bonnet housings, distinct from unfilled nylon and PA12-CF.
Overview
Glass-filled PA6 and PA66 are the default under-bonnet engineering thermoplastics — intake manifolds, engine covers, pedal boxes, electrical housings and cooling-circuit parts. Short glass fibre (typically 15–50 %) raises stiffness, strength and heat deflection versus unfilled nylon. The library's nylon page is unfilled interior PA; nylon-carbon-fibre-pa12-cf is a short-CF PA12 specialty. This page is the volume glass-filled PA6/PA66 family used across powertrain and electronics. Hydrolysis-stabilised and heat-stabilised grades are specified for glycol and under-bonnet ageing. Typical processing is injection moulding from granules. It is not PPA (higher-temperature polyamide) and not PPS.
