Why consider this supplier?

Formaplex was a Hampshire engineering company founded in 2001. It began as a tooling supplier to Formula 1 teams and grew into carbon fibre composite and polymer injection moulded parts for automotive, aerospace, defence, motorsport and medical customers. Its work included machining and assembly for the MoD Foxhound vehicle (2010) and parts for premium car brands. PES Media reported in August 2020 that Formaplex built the carbon fibre monocoque for the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50. It ran sites in Portsmouth, Cosham, Horndean and Havant. Elaghmore bought it in February 2021. Formaplex Technologies Limited entered administration on 16 January 2024, with 171 redundancies reported. Unipart bought the business in August 2024 and rebranded it Unipart Polymer and Composite Solutions, with McLaren stated as a continuing customer. The old company went into liquidation in January 2025.
